Devonshire House
28 East 10th Street
New York, NY
This architecturally distinctive pre-war building, designed by Emery Roth, has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind condominium. After purchasing the occupied building in late 2007, Cheshire undertook a major gut renovation that included the installation of a new roof, replacing and upgrading windows in renovated residences, and restoring the common areas, including the building's hallways and lobby, while the building was occupied. Devonshire House was also modernized with upgraded plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Simultaneously, Cheshire reconfigured the building's apartment layouts to create luxuriously spacious residences ranging from one bedroom to five bedrooms that have commanded the highest price per square foot in Greenwich Village's real estate history. Additionally, the apartment sales have been ahead of the projected sales pace.
